| When
the choir was founded in 1979 by few amateurs, it was
called “G.B.Pergolesi”, rehearsals and performances
were held in a local church. In 1897 it changed its name
to “Corale Luigi Tonini Bossi” in honour of
a local composer. In 1980 Massimo D’ Ignazio was
appointed Music Director and the Choral Society entered
a new era: Membership grew considerably and a tradition
of performances at regional Festivals started. Over the
years it appeared in many foreign countries, among there
France, Germany, Hungary and Poland. Representing diversity
in age, professions and social distribution, the Choral
Society “Luigi Tonini Bossi” presents several
concerts annually thus establishing itself as an integral
part of local cultural community.
